This is a beautifully cast brass King Tut pendant made in the mid 1970s. It's hung from a gold plated sterling silver 20" chain with a lobster claw clasp. In the late 1970s an exhibit called Treasures of Tutankhamun kicked off the American leg of its tour at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. This intriguing exhibition spurred a second 20th century Egyptian revival in jewelry design. The first of course was born out of Howard Carter's discovery of King Tut's tomb. This particular piece was sold only at the show and is copyrighted by the MMA.
