Item: This fantastic little object is a mechanical pencil made in the shape of an ancient Egyptian obelisk. It's made from gold plated sterling silver and would have hung from a chatelaine originally. The only other example I was able to find is in the collection of the Met Museum in New York City. I've given this a 1970s gold filled chain made by Speidel with a spring ring style clasp.
