Jewelry of this nature is often known as Railroad Jewelry, Fred Harvey Era and Old Pawn to name a few. It was sold in whistlestop stores and roadside stands starting as early as the late 19th century and these terms usually apply to Native American style jewelry made in the American Sounthwest in 1940's and prior. There was a big resurgence of interest in this type of jewelry in the 1960's and 1970's as well and continues to be produced by artisans and companies to this day.
