Item: This is a pair of Siam silver neilloware screw back earrings made in the 1950s. Nielloware is a style of jewelry in which parts of a metal surface (usually silver) are chemically treated and then baked resulting in a permanently blackened finish. The piece is then polished and the parts that aren't treated shine through resulting in the two tone look.
