vintage ladies dresses

1950's 1960's ladies

Item: This great late 1960's suit was designed by Bonnie Cashin at the height of her career. It is a blue and white wool with white leather trim. Like most suits of this era the two pieces seem a little disproportionate. The waist measures 26" - about a modern 4 or 6, but the jacket is more of an 8 or 10. This was simply the height of fashion in the 1960's. A line and boxier styles were the norm. Tops were a bit oversized and bottoms were quite fitted. This particular suit has a detachable cotton collar. The jacket measures 18 1/2" wide from underarm to underarm, about 17" at it's narrowest at the waist area and back to about 18" at the hips, it is about 14" wide at the shoulders and 25" long from the collar to hem and the sleeves measure 20" from shoulder to hem. If you live in the Portland area feel free to drop into the shop and try this on!
